Having bought system few years ago im now in the position to try join the blu-ray era. System so far is Onkyo SR505 matched with Quad Lite system, this sounds amazing in my small living room.

Question is,

Panasonic BD85 connected with analogue multichannel or Sony 370 and new Onkyo 508? stick with Onkyo as got ipod dock already and very pleased with the sound. Difference will be just over £200, will i notice any difference with HD AUDIO?

thanks for any help

I'd say your Quads deserve a better amp.

I'd be tempted to wait and save a bit longer and then upgrade to a 608 or similar.

HD Audio sounds excellent btw.

cheers for that, money an issue due to 7month old son (well missus thinks he's an issue) plus 608 would be a squeeze in my unit due to extra height it has. Will think on about it though.

Main thing is would i lose any quality doing bd85 and analogue route? read somewhere that analogue cant carry as much as hdmi!

cheers again
