I've a feeling that this is going to show me up for the newbie I really am.

I'm intending to use my system to listen to audio CD's as well as watch films, etc. I'll be using the Sony blu-ray and Denon receiver to do this.

I have a coaxial interconnect to connect the Denon to the PV1 subwoofer for home theatre use. However, the PV1 user manual states "For 2-channel operation: use speaker level rather than line level connections" A cable is provided for this purpose.

My question is: do I have to use both cables if I also want to listen to stereo music?

Thanks

My sub is connected at line level and I use it for both movies and stereo with no issues. You certainly don't need both types of connection.Separate CD player is a fairly big improvement on a blu ray player for CD's though.

you need both cables if you have a seperate amp for stereo and one for home cinema but if just your reciever you only need the one you're using and then need to set the av amp to a setting that includes the sub for 2 channel music to utilise it
