B&W PV1 positioning advice

Hi

Just got my MT-30 system and am loving it. Problem is the wife has her eyes on a new cabinet for the TV, which will completely fill the alcove that the TV is currently in, with the sub on the floor next to it. so if we go for this cabinet there wont be any space at the front of the room for the sub.

Does anyone know if I can position the PV1 sub at he rear of the room, next to one of the (5.1) surround speakers or will this not give good results?

I see the KEf system has a wireless sub and the marketing blurb shows it at various positions in the room?

Just wanted to check before forking out for a longer (expensive) sub cable.

Yes, you can try out your sub in various places around the room - it doesn't have to be at the front. You might find Chapter 3 of our "How to get the best from your home cinema video" helpful - it gives you advice on where best to position the subwoofer, complete with set-up graphics.
