what amp can you recommend for good music? is rotel still the best bet?

The 603 s2 is expensive and quite a demanding speaker. Do not skimp on the amp.

Your Marantz 6 series and Rega Brios won’t cut it.

I would look further leftfield like Classe or Hegel as suggested above. Maybe Musical Fidelity too.
Many would tell you otherwise, but look at Naim Nait 5si , Rega Elex R too.

Peachtree Audio's nova150 is also worth a look. The nova Series has been designed to keep resistive speakers such as B&W's 800 Series in check. Therefore in comparison the 603 S2 Anniversary Edition's will be a walk in the park for the nova150 🙂

They are all good amplifiers BUT personally within your budget, i will choose the Rotel RA1572 ( 120w x2 @ 8 ohms ) because it has good power and it comes from the same family as the Bowers & Wilkins.
