AV Reciever

Hi

I am about to purchase a PZ81 or 85 and also a Panasonic Blu ray player.

If i want the best quality sound i understand it needs HDMI capability, can someone recommend a suitable item (best value) i already have high quality speakers from my previous Panasonic AV Reciever which is not HDMI, can i utilise the equipment i already have??

Ypur help would be very welcome

The obvious suggestion is the Onkyo TX-SR606 or - if you can find one at a decent price - the TX-SR605 it replaces.

interesting...so you dont recommend the Onkyo 875? is there a reason? because the blu ray doesnt need the upscaling?

Not at all, apart from the fact the OP is going to use the speakers from his old receiver and is emphasising best value, so I went for the lowest- cost option. Cost no object I'd go for the 875 over the 606/605 every time.
