What does it mean

Thanks

it means that you may have wired your front speakers incorrectly and hence they are out of phase. So check that out first of all. Having said that, I had a similar caution with my Denon 1909 when I ran audyssey calibration. In my instuctions it does state that this can happen and if you are certain you are wired correctly you just skip to the next part of the calibration.

Carrying on with my woes of setting up my amp, I have a couple more questions

1) I was watching Transformers as a test and according to the audio setup, it was 5.1 Dolby TrueHD, yet the display on the 1910 only said Dolby Digital.

2) Volume, listening to Transformers the volume was -19dB, yet when I witched over to watch SKY HD it changed to -40bD, why wont it maintain the volume ?

3) The display is lit up with various Audyssey settings, do I need all these on or should they be off ?

Thanks

Damian

1) Which player are you using? Could be the player isn't set up to output HD Audio, or could be that the receiver's decode mode is set incorrectly.

2/3) I suspect you have Audyssey Dynamic Volume switched on, so it's compensating for the fact the incoming signal from the Sky box is at a higher level than that from your player.

Andrew I have the 1910, I did have considerable problems assigning the inputs, so I may have messed up there

Should I turn the Audyssey off, if so what menu is this in?

Thanks

If it's the same as the 2310 model, there are 3 big buttons on the front of the receiver (directly under the display) labelled Dynamic Eq, Dynamic Volume, and MultEq - these are duplicated on the back of the remote handset, under the flap, the bottom row of buttons. These toggle all the Audyssey options for room equalisation and volume compensation. There is no right or wrong as to whether they should be off or on, just whatever you prefer.
