Hey everyone, I'm fairly new to all this hi-fi stuff, and after finding this site I figured it was the best place to ask for help... recently I picked up a JVC RX-206 amplifier off eBay and now I'm looking for some stereo speakers to hook up to it. I found a pair called the Tannoy Mercury Custom F1s (whathifi reviewed them here: http://www.whathifi.com/review/Tannoy-Mercury-F1-Custom/) that are on Amazon for the very tip of my budget - £100, and various reviews both professional and user make me think these are the right speakers for what I want. However, I've found out that they don't come with any included cables, and I have no idea what to buy...
Here's a picture of the back of my amp:
So basically I need a cable that will fit those ports on my amp and the Tannoy speakers. I've heard there are other types of sockets, so I'm worried the Tannoy's aren't compatible with my amp or something.
Of course, if someone has a suggestion for better speakers at that price please give me a link to them. I'm looking for something with good clear bass without having to get a subwoofer. The current speakers I have have OK bass but lack clarity on the higher tones so I'm basically looking for an upgrade to them - a bit more bass and better clarity. Also, I need a good (but not very expensive) phono to 3.5mm cable. I bought one off eBay for £1.30 but they were crap (I tested them on some speakers that aren't mine).
Thanks for any help .
