Hi,

I live in France and bought from homeavdirect.com (Bob the seller he was very kind and helpful) a bundle including the Denon 1911 and a Q Acoustics pack including 2x2010, 2070, 2x2050 and 2000C. Speaker cable is QED classic 79 strand speaker (2.5mm²), BD player Panasonic DMP-60 and HDMI cable between BD player and AVR is QED perfromance 1m.

I installed the system (without the surround due to shortage in cable, my fault!!) and when i watched a movie or even listened to music, I was very surprise to notice that volume was very low. To give an idea, i have to set up volume at -30dB to have a good audio level when watching a movie (main speakers are distant by 4m and sofa is installed 3.5m from speakers) and at -60dB i don't hear anything.

I am not sure it is normal even if you consider that speakers will improve after hours.

Could you help me with this? My ideas are :

- i didn't run the Audissey set up due to the lack of surround. Maybe it will improve the audio level once the system is complete

- Denon 1911 is maybe not powerful enough for this audio system if you switch main speakers from 2010 to 2050.

- Speaker cable too small considering 2 speakers need 10m of cable.

Thank for your help.

xbox360 -36 to -48 if im playing call of duty or fifa11.

ps3 -28--32 is about right.

i can hardly hear anything past -56db on most so i close to you.

I have recently bought the 1911.

I've found without the dynamic volume engaged then around -30 is a good volume for films. With it engaged it can be much lower, around -50 or lower.

On my previous Marantz about -35 was a good volume for films and music, or around -45 or -50 if trying to keep things quieter, (no dynamic vilume on that model).

I think the levels you're having to set the amp at are Ok to be honest, as long as you're happy with the sound.
