which of these audio interconnect cables
Atlas Equator, Wireworld Luna 6, Chord Company CrimsonPlus, Merlin Bach, Merlin Mozart
or any other in similar price range

can help in providing a bit spacious sound (little more space behind vocals) and a little cleaner/non-soft bass

thanks

Look first to your speaker position, thereafter youe choice of components. Bits of wire typically don't make the level of change or effect you're after.

i have some non branded ones now from my dac to amp , recently got Chord Carnival Silverscreen speaker cables, and the sound became clean, detailed, lowmid softness was gone.

With my present setup the sound is warm and tight but i feet i needed little more spaciousness.

i was anyways going to replace the interconnects, just wanted opinions for the one that will work best for me

thanks

I've use Merlin before and they were not to good so rule those out.

Havent used Atlas, Wireworld or Chord but i have used Kimber Timbre. These are very good spaciously and give a a good overall picture and the bass is defiantly clear, clean and defined but not as dramatic as some cable, i'd call it natural but slightly lean.

For Kimber go to Russ Andrews with a 30 day no quibbles return policy, but read the blurb.

As RS has said interconnects won't help, the problem is with your other equipment. If you still have the Onkyo I'd look at upgrading that - Naim, Cyrus, Roksan or others of that ilk should give you what you want.

Unfortunately in Hifi there aren't many shortcuts to good sound

Chord have a new range of cables coming out and you should be able to get last years models on offer if you look around.

Frank Harvey Hifi are discounting. Plain crimsons £22, Chord Cobras from £30. I bought the chord chameleon silver plus for £75 this week. Testing at the moment, but sound good.

thanks for the suggestions,

one more question, whether a 1meter interconnect or 3-5m interconnect will have a notable difference in sound quality.

with my hand made cable i could easily notice improvement when i cut it short, will it be the same in case of a good branded cable?

Not over the distances you're using it at I doubt. Roger Russell's site has a good summary on wire thickness and the lengths you can go up to.
