I'll second that. Excellent cable and I've tried a few. For me the next step is the Nordost Baldur but it's more than double the price. No chance. Well, not yet anyway...

No and no. The Chord ended my i/c journey after about seven cables. If the price is right, buy with confidence. If your need is to tame a system in the treble, perhaps go VDH.

Would it be possible for you to list those you tried and the main traits of each and what you thought about each?

The Chord cable is bright and detailed and was very good for the money but it's main rival from VDH was not the D300mkIII but the D 102MKIII and that was a good cable at the price where the Chord was bright clean and detailed the VDH countered with a smooth thicker sound but still very detailed and all depended which cable for which system and the personal taste of the person.As for the VDH D300MKIII it was very similar to the D 102MKIII but not as detailed and a bit thinner in sound but still quite close and both worked well with the VDH CS122 speaker cable.This is a very old post but this info might help people who are browsing older cables
