Just got a 46 inch Panny PZ81 and I've noticed that when viewing many HD movies on Sky HD there are black bands top and bottom of the screen. My last TV which was a Sony 50 inch HD Ready didn't seem to have the same black bands but I'm pretty sure I had it set to the same 16:9 ratio all the time as I have done with the new Panny. I've noticed one of the menu settings in the Settings menu is called 'Picture Overscan' which on certain channels appears to stretch the picture??

Another setting in the Picture menu is 'Colour Balance'........not sure whether this is better on or off as I can't see a discernible difference between the settings.

Any advice or info would be appreciated! Also noticed that the Piano Black gloss bezel attracts dust like the England Rugby team attracts heavy defeats!!

hi, i have the earlier model panny pz80 and while watching bluray high def films using picture overscan streches the picture but you will lose a small portion on the edges. try it with scan and without i would rather view the whole picture even if it has the black bars thats the way it was filmed to fit screen.maybe the sony blows the picture to fill screen but you will still lose the whole picture to some degree. yep the bezel always attracts dust even after you cleaned it 2 days ago,
