Are Sky HD/Sky + boxes interchangable?

I was asked a question today by a friend which I could not answer - can anyone else help?

If someone has a Sky HD in one room, and is paying the Multiroom fee for a Sky + box in another room, if the boxes were swapped around,would the HD box still give a HD picture.?

Basically, is the cabling going to the two boxes the same?

Yes. Both are connected to the dish/LNB by twin feeds.
