Archiving vinyl

Hi, I've been putting vinyl to digits, primarily for usage in the car CD player, but I'm now thinking about consigning more LPs to digits, but the results I've been getting using a Griffin iMic between my Musical Fidelity amp and my DELL PC are only so-so, I see a lot of posts of people getting music off their PC's not so much on putting it on. Anyone with experience of hardware to take analogue to USB other than the Griffin iMic?

I've still not bought anything, my project is on-hold until I've had a chance to hear the upcoming Arcam rDAC.
