Hi all,
I've recently bought some second hand Arcam Muso speakers (only 2) and a new Arcam Solo Sub to replace my Kef 104/2 speakers which I no longer have room for. I was driving the Kef speakers with an Arcam Alpha 8R and a Quad 606 power amp (apparently upgraded to a 909 power unit).
The Kef are old and the donuts are perishing but they still sound lovely but a very soft and warm sound. I think this worked well with the Arcam Alpha but the Muso speakers are a bit more precise and things can sound a bit wishy washy. I don't want to spend a fortune but was considering trying to find a DiVA or FMJ Arcam amp to replace the Alpha 8. I've also read the Alpha 10 is good.
I'd appreciate any thoughts you might have on this? I want a precise sound really, I listen to a whole variety of music.
Thanks in advance!
