Hi

I currently have the opportuity to buy both of these CDP's for close enough to the same money. I have read a lot of good reviews about both, however I know the CD63T is or has been superseded whereas the 640C v2 is a current model.. I don't have the opportunity to test either of them, so am relying on reviews and recommendations.

Does anyone have an opinion on which way I should go and why?

Cheers

I have owned an Arcam CD73t and also had a Cambridge 640Cv2 on demo for a few days.

The Arcam is a much much better CD player - smoother and simply sounds and looks a higher quality.

The CD73T is a fabulous player, particularly at current, end of line prices. Depends what sort of sound you like though. The Arcam is very detailed with warmth, particularly in the mid-band. The Cambridge is brighter.

i owned the CA 640C v2 - until i bought the CD72T (the predecessor to the CD73T). the CD72T blew the CA 640C v2 out the water!
