Arcam AV8 problem

Hi, I'm hoping someone might be able to give me an idea of a fault that has developed with AV8. When the processor finishes initialising there is a sudden loud bang through the speakers & the processor powers off. I took all other components out of the equation & just powered on AV8 & same thing happened minus loud bang as power amps were off. I'm presuming that it may be a power surge in the processor & it is powering off to protect itself. Frustrating thing is it was only fully serviced by Arcam 4 months ago & has just gone back a second time to them after they claimed they had sorted it(found a burnt out relay). The fault appears to be triggered by the multi channel input, as if it comes on on the DVD input , cd etc, it works, then press dvd-a input it goes off & then when it turns on after this, once initialised, suddenly turns off again. Incidentally, I've also tried it on other electric rings in the home & it does the same thing Any opinion or advice greatly appreciated.

Hi, thanks for the reply, I've had good luck compared to others it seems with Arcam, but I'm starting to doubt them, this is third time I've sent it, first time they claimed no problem with it, second time burnt out relay was claimed to be problem, got it back yesterday, set it up, bang there it went again. Started wondering if it was my set up, but if so, why hasn't the avp700 I'm using in its stead or other equipment having problems? Arcam also initially claimed it must be something in my set up & not the av8 but conceded on this point. Here's hoping third time lucky as I've never even considered swapping to anything else.

Further progress on the av8, they now say it is a power unit failure, don't get me wrong I'm no electronics expert but from day 1 I kept suggesting this was a possible power issue in that the unit was drawing excessive power causing it to turn off as a protective measure, after three visits to arcam, they now agree!
