Apple TV (Take 3) Q4 2008

Hi All,

I think the Apple TV is awesome and am really tempted
to buy one soon! but i want to find out if there are any immediate
plans from Apple for an update? i'd hate to get one now and then 2
months later its been upgraded with better features etc. Also my
current TV isnt HD ready and its a panasonice 37 inch 852 x 480
resolution - has anyone tried apple tv on a simmilar spec tv and if so
are the graphics ok?

As Apple TV has only just been relaunched, I don't suppose there will be a major upgrade for a while. ÿThere are, of course, constant software refinements from Apple. ÿI checked out the quality on an American website some while back and it seems as if it's similar to satellite HD TV - certainly not full HD, so I would imagine it would look great on your present set-up. ÿAlthough the rental cost of films on Apple TV is more than Love Film, I think it might be quite good from the choice point of view.

No immediate plans for a replacement that I know of, but there has been a lot of web chatter about the possibility of an Apple-branded LCD monitor/Mac with the Apple TV functionality built-in. But at the moment it's pure speculation, nothing more.
