Apple ipad streaming Spotify to Cyrus DAC

Can anyone tell me the best way to stream Spotify from the Apple Ipad to a Cyrus 8xpd amplifier/DAC ?Also is there a Spotify app or is it best just to load the software to the desktop and stream from there?

I think I am right in saying Apple TV would be the best route to go ..... optical out into the Cyrus, or Airport express as I believe it has a mini optical out.

Spotify works well from the desktop, better user interface on the PC or MaC than the iPad. then just connect using USB or optical out if it has one.
