Fully agree; theyre great little speakers.

Have you demo'd the B&W 686's at all?

You could also consider the B&W 601 S3's; theyre very good little speakers and front ported as well so are fine with being wall mounted

Well then yours will be even better because the Carbon 2 provides 25 watts per channel whereas mine only gave 15.

Given the 91db sensitivity of the BR1's, then that combo should not run out of steam even in a reasonably sized living room, let alone a kitchen.

I have the MA BR1s with my DM37. Think they are lovely little speakers. Funnily enough I don't think they've ever been reviewed in WHF. I put them up against MS902i, Wharfedale 9.0 and Tannoy F1s before making my decision to buy. And I have them wall mounted.

Edit. Just noticed how old this thread is. Should have looked before I posted. I imagine OP has already sorted it!

reggaedave:cheap as chips thesedays aswell....

Not too sure about that reggaedave. Just looked at 3 sites and cheapest I found was £159 a pair. Thats about 40 quid more than I paid for mine 18 months ago. I was quite surprised.
