My 20 year old Arcam Alpha CDP and 19 year old Audiolab 8000A amp don't look so old now compared to some here

Ha yes i know what you mean, also still running the Audiolab 8000A, CD and PX, bearing in mind though most of the kit people have posted is older than me!

Hi chris88

Still using my fathers Meridian 101 preamp & 2 105 monobloc poweramps from the 1970`s and still sounds sweet as ever.

And My Father is still using his Logic DM101 (mk1) turntable fitted with Helius Scorpio arm and also still uses a Meridian 203 DAC with his Arcam CD player.

I remember being just a little envious, as a friend with a bit more money to spend than me (due to his new job), bought these.

If I remember right, the Pre was brown, with long "piano keys" as selectors, and the monoblocs were neat rectangular boxes.....they sounded good too.

Yes - most of my kit is pretty elderly

Linn LP12 / LV. X (1986) /Ortofon 520 (1993)

Meridian 506 (1994)

Arcam Delta 290 (1994)

Rogers LS 2a2's (1994) (Rega ELA IIs bought to replace these but I never liked them as much)

My old, second-hand A&R A60 (1982) is still propping up my Dad's system

A pair of Mission 760i's (1992) is in the kitchen linked to a receiver

Great thread, I didn't really have anything to contribute until the other day when my wife came home after visiting family with a fully working 1930's Decca Gramaphone and a load of 78's, it is a full waist height example and a beautiful piece of furniture that I'd love to get restored, the vinyl sounds a little scratchy but considering it's age not bad atall, it's just the winding it up that is a little painful

Welcome......if you are the same Vipers that I've read with interest over in the Arcam section of AV Forums, I look forward to your input.

Very nice kit btw.
