what hifi's show report utterly disappointing; hopefully they will further develop the content beyond 12 items that took their interest.
Yes, it looks like a quick headlines only report, but some good stuff included.

At sensible prices the new Dali models looked gear and the Sonik 7 playing were very enjoyable. Slightly disconcerting that all the tweeters are at different heights between models, but they claim wide dispersion!

Yeah, that WHF article is pretty uninspiring and actually mostly features products I found equally uninspiring. The ProAcs frankly sounded poor with the Exposure amplification, and the Onkyo/Klipsch combination was clinical. It was difficult to judge the Project setup, because the Henley reps seemed far more interested in gossiping away to Ed Selley than actually demonstrating the equipment.

The Cyrus demo was strong though, and as already said, the ATCs were incredible.

Acoustic Energy won it for me overall. I thought their AE300-2 not only sounded fantastic but looked it too. And just £649? The AE1 40th Anniversary demo today also superb.

Honourable nods to the brilliant Fyne Audio room with a strong lineup using Accuphase gear.

The Kii room was worth a look with their actives, Neat had their wonderful Iota IIs which were as enjoyable in Bristol as they were at Cranage last year. Less impressed by their small floorstander the Iota Alpha II which had plenty of bass but, in their room, at the expense of balance.

The ATC room was excellent with their impressive EL50 actives, but Acoustic Energy took it for me. If I buy a new passive, there's a good chance it'll be them.
