Anybody compared the new Sony S370 to Panny DMP-BD60 or 80?

Hi,

The new Sony S370 BD player is available at a great price now and i think the controlled sound may suit my set up better.

Has anybody compared the picture/ sound to either the Panasonic DMP - 35/55 or 60/80 and would be willing to share their findings.

From the Group Test, even the new BD85 came second, so I suspect it is better than the BD60/80?

No, it's not as straightforward as that. BD85 came 2nd because of its higher price than the S370. Doesn't mean that it's worse in performance.

I assumed that the Panasonic BD85 still got 5 stars (despite being bettered by the Sony S370 in picture and sound) was that it offered the 7.1 ch out which the Sony don't. Useful for users with older AV am/receiver without HDMI as most may already know.

As Ronald has posted. According to WHFs 'supertest', the S370 was better with movie and sound playback

As its been seen on amazon for 100 quid from time to time I really think that unless you need extra features (doubtful) then id definitely be going with the S370
