I think there was a few systems that weren't being shown off to their full potential. Some of the music was just bland. By that I mean no energy, no dynamics, just not attention grabbing. Some of the rooms you could just hear too much of the room, which put me off listening. It's like the Oneiros speaker system - ridiculously expensive, so when you go in, you want to be wowed by them. And you should be wowed by them! For me, there were other rooms that sounded just as good.

I agree David. The outstanding one to me was a Saturday in the Absolute Sounds demo with the Magico speakers.

AS usually do a great job of matching the system to the room, and setting it up well though I’ve not heard them since Ascot in 2023. The Magico were terrific at Ascot with valve amps and a dCS cd player.

I personally wouldn't touch anything from that distributor, but that leads on to a few gripes I have with the industry in general.

This is not about your gripes with a particular distributer or the industry in general.
It is about the system(s) being demoed and what can be achieved albeit a costly one in this case.
The choice of music was very varied and not just chosen to make their chosen components sound better than anyone else, although to my ears this system did blow the others out of the water.
