Any LG Cx input label experts?

Hi

I have a C3, but expect it’ll be the same in C4.

I have a 1st World issue driving me mad.

My sources (EE TV Box, Panasonic BDP, and Apple TV puck) all go to the amp via HDMI. The amp connects to the TV via HDMI cable to its eARC socket, HDMI 2. Normal set up, I would have thought 🤷🏼

The issue is that in the TV’s Home Hub, the sources all show under its HDMI 2. Correct. But only the EE TV Pro box is correctly labelled. The Apple TV did show as such, but now shows “Living Room”, which it seems to have picked up from my EE network labels. And - horror of horror - my Panasonic 4k player has changed to “DVD Player”! The shame of it 😱

I’ve tried every input/edit label there is in the TV menu, and none of them appear. So I can’t edit the labels🤬

Do any C3/4 owners know of a foolproof way to edit labels, or is this just a bug with the standard, sources > amp > TV set up?

I had a similar issue turn on all sources then swap all the HDMIS to different HDMIS it worked for me . try that .so if the Apple TV is in HDMI 1 put in 4 and so on . wait for the tv to detect the connection for each 1, a message should appear on the screen for each HDMI .
Also make sure you have the latest update on the tv before you start .

Thanks Shrek. Not sure if I wasn’t clear, or if I’m misunderstanding your suggestion. The HDMI cables from each source go to the AVR, not the TV. Only 1 cable goes from the amp to the TVs eARC socket, mainly to get audio to the amp and pass on video to the telly, but also so I can play TV stuff back down to the amp. This would be a common set up for AV, no?

Only my Panasonic has separate HDMI out sockets to split the audio and video, but the others don’t. If I connected each source direct to the TV, I’d be limiting my playback options, no?

The weird thing is the TV box *is* correctly labelled, always has been, and I do seem to remember the sort of on screen routine you describe. But it was the first to be connected. The App TV did show as such, but has now changed. Same with my Panasonic BDP.

I know it’s 1st world stuff, but it irritates me.

To be fair that is pretty annoying.

What labels have been given to your other devices specifically? Do you think these are being provided by the TV based on assessment of the HDMI eARC handshake it's getting from each device? Or is it possibly your AV receiver that is classifying these sources and passing that on to the TV?

It may be that eARC just doesn't have any modern labels and so Panasonic is forced to self-declare as a DVD for some policy reason. It may be that the receiver is dated and only has a few classifications...

EDIT also what changed to create this issue?

I don't have a AVR but I have the same tv have a look at this might help you if not refer to your AVR
