I used to do a lot of cycling including time-trialling, through my teens and twenties but, drifted away goung in to my thirties. Tried going back to it in more recent years but, failed to get the bug back.

Yes I’m big in to mountain biking, I have three (not including the frame in the loft) 😅

I agree on road riding, have a single speed for the commute but have a gravel bike for the crappy b roads where hopefully you will only see a car every half an hour!

Summers coming so be nice to find some trails to explore .

Ive orderd this German made bike by ex world moutain biker.Alloy double butted frame with a reasonable Shimano running gear.Hydrolic brakes sealed hubs and BB.

think its going to be another week though GRRR.

Not a commercial brand for the money better than the likes of Marin.

I'm one of those that used to do a lot of cycling in my younger days. Bought a mountain bike in my 40's just to ride to work. 1st half of journey along canal towpath then a mile or so an a back road and last half mile on a busy main road. I cycled for a few years then my knees couldn't take it anymore.

Nice thick wheels, that’s where I went wrong with thin ones.

This is what I used to time trial on, Specialized Turbo R 700x19c with Kevlar beads, @145psi for low rolling resistance.

@Angle Poise-Lamp has time trialing jumped on the high volume bandwagon as well? Quite enjoying the 32mm Conti gp5000 on my road wheels.
No idea, I gave up time trialing a long time ago, when working further from home left me no time for training and, too far for cycling to work…….. About 30 years ago.

I will say though, that tubular tyres (tubs) are a little fatter than the lightest beaded tyres, like I used. Tubs can also take higher pressure.

I've only bought a bike online once. It was a good thing I used to build my own wheels, as they clearly weren't finished, with very slack spokes. 'Twas a Dawes mountain bike, when I was thinking about trying to get back into cycling.

Dawes was a good brand not sure if they still exist.I have built many wheels in the past ,a good skill to have .
Dawes used to be good, which is why I bought one about 14 years ago but, no more it seems. They are just selling cheap, poor quality, far eastern bikes, that have been thrown together and have Dawes stickers applied. 42% of their Trustpilot reviews are 1 star now. I remember when the Dawes Super Galaxy was a bike to aspire to...
