Decisions!

Well, it was a Onkyo 606 and an B&W MT30 set up for me. Done toooooo much research, fizzed my head, and now need a push to just go buy. But...

1) Now it is 606 or 875?

2) And MT30, or the MT30 pack with the centre replaced with an XTC to add punch.

I suppose my considerations are will I really need the 875 with small speakers... and will the XTC throw out the systems balance???? I like a clear centre, but is this going to throw out the set up?

After that I can just go buy. I have thought too long! Money isn't the issue, but value for £ and good overall match is! This is it: no more posts and indecision! Tell me what to do, please, venerable What Hifi Staff

(I'd rather have opinions of those used to hearing the speakers and mixing stuff up, rather than posters who can just comment on the XTC in isolation. This isn't about the merits of the player, but the TEAM).

Thanks.. now off to liberate a whole ISA to pay!

Good though the 875 is, the 606 will be more than sufficient with these speakers.

Yes, stick with the standard one.

OK chaps, now up the ladders, fix bayonets, and wait for my whistle...

Thanks.

I'm going to demo both amps, but not convinced that the 875 will be 2.5x the better one in my lounge. It is a lot more cash for what may not be an almighty difference!

I'm with you on keeping the 5 MT1's, but just have an itch to ramp up the centre! Never happy me. OK... time to buy. Got a good 606/MT30 pack offer of not much more than £1500!

Cheers Andy
