Has anybody tried this? http://andy-audioplayer.blogspot.com/

It works with WASAPI but does not have a GUI. The author claims that it produces better sound reproduction than Foobar2000 because the PC is not distracted by other processes such as the GUI. Feedback on his blog spot supports his claim.

foobar2000 is an extremely lean implementation in terms of PC resources. I can't imagine the GUI being sufficiently taxing to impact even an relatively under-powered PC (unless you're using milkdrop or something similiar).

That's not to say the improvements to sound aren't real. Why not give it a try and report back?

) but it seems like an incredible amount of faffing around. As regards the degree of distraction produced by the Foobar GUI, see my posts on this thread.
