Amps to match PMC OB1s

I purchased a pair of OB1s just before Christmas and I love them. I had a pair of KEF 105/3s before and I thought they were pretty special, but the OB1s are something else. I'm using Chord Odyssey 2 speaker cable and Chord Chameleon Silver plus interconnect. I only play vinyl (LP12/lingo/Lyra Argo i).

My amps are old but very trusted. I often wonder what upgrades I could consider?

I use an Audio Research SP9 pre and a Musical Fidelity P270 Power. (I said they were old!)

I would be looking to purchase second hand as funds are very tight.

Any ideas?

£1000 - £1500 absolute max. Hence the need for secondhand!

Something like this would be a good starting point. Or an Audiolab 8000C and a pair of these.

I've checked out the Primare and very nice pieces of kit, but outside my budget.

With regards to the Audiolab and MF amps, do you really think these will out perform my own MF/AR combo?

I'm not knocking the Audiolab, but I hadn't seriously considered them as an upgrade before.

Possibly not, but on that budget two - or even four - 8000Ms on the secondhand market would make a fine partner for the OB1s. The speakers like healthy dose of power, and thrive when biamped.
