Amplifier for KEF IQ90

Hello All,

Looking for advise here.

I have recently bought a KEF IQ90 and have it connected to my Yamaha Receiver RX-397. The sound is OK but not good or great.

I am thinking of upgrading to an amplifier and have two options Marantz PM7004 or Cambridge Audio 650.

I have heard that the Kef IQ90 (which is the classic series) does not go well with Marantz !!!. Is that true , please share your experience.

My configuration is with the exception of the current receiver RX-397....

Squeezebox 3 as Transport, DacMagic, Interconnect Van Del Hul, Kef IQ90.

I mostly listen to soft/pop and not a big fan of rock. if that helps....

Purely from my own experience with Kef speakers why not also consider Musical Fidelity. I have the combo and it sounds lovely to me!

I couldnt audition your recommendation, finally bought the Marantz PM7004.

Hope I have made the right decision....
