Hello,
Recently had my Marantz SR6001 start going into standby saying it was protecting itself. It was a couple of weeks out of the 2 year warranty so I wasn't happy, especially having just got my first projector.
I rang up Sevenoaks in Sheffield who I had purchased from and they said straight away bring it in, and they tested it to make sure it wasn't my other equipment causing an issue, then packed it off to Germany for repair. It came back a couple of weeks later, and they tested it again, but it still had a fault, (result of problem fixed but not the problem itself). They let me know and packed it off again, and were very apologetic.
Anyway all is well now, but I just wanted to say how pleased I was with Sevenoaks, especially testing the amp before and after the fix, and also the fact that Marantz would honour the warranty even a little after it had expired, (obviously less pleased with the initial incorrect fix!).
Unfortunately fitting the amp into a new AV cabinet this week I slid it back out as the wires at the back were bunched up, and an optical lead shot out breaking the cover on the socket. Should have just cut a bigger hole in the back straight off as I think it's needed for ventilation anyway. (Coincidentally I've come on the forum tonight and found the unit is the same as one mentioned by Big Chris in a post in 2008, in the resurrected 875 thread!).
Also, if anyone is considering something similar I have put my sub inside the cabinet with the driver facing horizontally out, and I open the sliding door when it's in use. Had some reservations but it sounds great, and the other half is very happy to have more stuff hidden!
Currently very happy with my setup and really pleased i took the projector plunge.
