Alternatives to Bose Lifestyle

Apologies if this is an ignorant question, but are there any worthy alternatives to the latest Bose Lifestyle systems for the following: -home DVD/CD entertainment system -connection to HDTV for surround sound -HDMI connections -hard drive capability -ability to connect up to speakers in other rooms, including bathrooms (preferably wired) -access and play music on central hard disk in other rooms via remotes Thanks in advance.

Plenty. How much are you willing to spend? Like big boxes or small speakers? Like it neat or love to get your hands dirty playing with gizmos?

Why not separates instead of some "lifestyle" package, you'll get better quality, and then you can gradually upgrade as you like, replacing redundant equipment, etc. There are wifi solutions for multiroom audio, then you won't need cabling, altho i'm not sure how reliable wifi is between some rooms.
