All-in-one or integrated amp?

Depends on the all in one in question.
there's no doubt the higher end jobs are of good enough quality to do any CD justice although I would doubt their ability when it comes to vinyl replay and most all in ones aren't as they tend to be constrained to streaming and digital formats only.

That's where the Technics has an advantage over others - they know a thing or two about vinyl replay, and the phono stage in the SC-A600 is very good.

Not saying it won't but the sheer SQ is great -- so holographic

Absolutely right but my built-in jobbie is difficult to see past. And as I've got the same turntable as you that would make a good match up. Technics or Leema?

Just received a CD of Macy Gray and her voice sounds breathtaking, almost like she's in the room. The imaging is stunning.

Would a all-in-one make me tingle in the same way? Not sure.

The Joan Armatrading album is the only one out of those 3 I have on vinyl and CD. The vinyl version wins hands down. Far more realism.
