Airport Express Optical cable , is this the right one ?

Hi all ,

Before I go and buy the wrong cable these are the right ends to connect an airport express to a normal optical input ?

Yup - right one.

If you google it you will find one cheaper (but not by much).

Not so much bothered about the price , will proberly buy in Maplins tomorrow and get robbed if they have the cable , just didn't want to be sat there like an idiot with the wrong lead on Monday when my new amp arrives .

I got a couple of 10 metre ones on Amazon for under 3 quid each. There not in use anymore, but so cheap they're not even worth putting on eBay.

The QED Performance got a What Hi-Fi award in 2012. It is sold at a reasonable price, and they make it with the right Toslink to Mini Toslink connectors for the Airport Express. A digital cable cannot alter the character of the sound. But it is always easier to deal with good-quality cables, they last longer—and in extreme conditions, using bad quality cables/connectors may result in sound degradation.
