How does one go about getting iplayer on the tv through AE.

You can't as AE has no video capability. In fact, Apple TV doesn't do it out of the box either, and you'd be better looking at a games console (I know the Wii does it, though quality's not great) or Windows Media Extender kind of thing. Gonna cost more money though...

I thought i saw somewhere that iplayer was available to tv now so could it be wired with ethernet cable from tv to router.

Err, yes but that functionality has to be built-in to the TV, it's independent of any other equipment you might have (other than the router, obviously).

I would think that if you intend to use the ae for tv playback, the time delay would mean that lip syncing would be so bad that it would be unwatchable.

I tried this with airfoil.
