Just a quick question about Express's input. There only seems to be a combined optical/analogue input in the pictues I've seen? Is this correct? Would a normal optical cable say form my home cinema work? I have a cable in my current hi-fi set up that i plug into the head-phone port on my iPod and it will play iPod amp. Could I put Express through this?

Hi Harvey. Thats right the input is both minijack and optical (toslink). I plug an optical lead into my express but I needed to buy a toslink adapter to clip on the end of the lead. It only cost a couple of pounds. Before that I was using a mini jack to RCA like your ipod lead. I found the sound quality was miles better with the optical lead.

Being pedantic here, but it's an output on the AE, not an input.

I dont mind you being pedantic at all! Im that way as well.

Not too worried about sound quality just yet. Want to get the Express bought and set up. Getting NAS drive for music in couple of months. If I've got the Express set up now it's one less thing to have to learn then.

For the toslink adaptor - http://www.amazon.co.uk/TOSLINK-3-5MM-ADAPTOR-OPTICAL-AUDIO/dp/B001U4J6KU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1245755976&sr=8-1

That do?
