I am trying to improve sound from my flat screen TV. Stereo, not surround sound. I have an Arcam 7R. Old, so will it suffice for purpose ?. Main problem is size of speakers (Wife). Looking for suggestions: What to buy As small as possible, about £200 - £300 Bookshelf presumably ?

Considered Bose 2-1 until I read the comments on forums and the price. Any info / advice appreciated sound quality and 'aesthetic' appearance. Thanks

Your amp is more than good enough. Try Monitor Audio BR2 - about £230 last time I looked (and that's full walk-into-a-dealer price), and MA speakers tend to go well with Arcam.

You say 'bookshelf', but you'd really do well to spend the rest of your £300 on some decent stands for them too.

if you could get a bit more money the AVI neutron v are small and very good! You can get the older model (VI) for within your budget if you are prepared to go second hand or ex demo. also the quad L11 are quite small and nice looking they are also going cheap at the moment.

Something like this for that WAF and VFM. AudioEngine A2 - £139
