I am looking to buy a Turntable and amp to go with my music system. I currently have a Cambirdge 640A amp, a Cambridge 640C CD player and Dali Lektor 2 speakers.Ideally I'd like to keep the speakers and CD player. Currently I am thinking of buying a Project Debut Carbon turntable and a Totel RA-10 amp. I'd be interested in advice on compatibility of these choices wth the Dali Lektor 2s and if other alternatives would be worth considering. My overall budget for this is approx £700.Many Thanks

Can I assume you already own some LP's?

The Project is a good starting point although I know a lot of people will advocate the Rega equivalent.

Have not heard the Rotel amp but I might put forward the Marantz PM6004 as an alternative.

Try to listen to these amps beforeyou decide on one and make sure whatever you get actually has a phono input for a moving magnet cartridge. This means you do not have to spend more on a phono preamp.

Thanks Alears. Yes, have somewhat miraculously just come back into possession of my record collection that I passed onto a family member when I moved to CDs back in the early 90s.

Thanks for the advice
