Hi folks
Newbie here.
I’ve recently bought a matantz model 40n and I would like to pair some decent headphones (wired) for listening to in the evening.
I will be primarily listening to vinyl-CD and genres are vocal, instrumental (esp. brass) and orchestral. I love jazz and also listen to classic pop/rock.
I have some momentum’s for digital streaming

I believe the headphone amp on my amp is decent, and would favour not having to buy an external headphone amp.
I’ve been eyeing up Sennheiser 660s2 but I believe bass is a little light? Any other suggestions (I’m not scared of spending a bit of cash but would rather limit budget if poss!)
Thanks so much.
Simon

I have Sennheiser HD600, a bit light in bass but otherwise they are really good headphones. They are neutral, and superb for classical, folk and jazz. I also have Cambridge Audio P100 which I bought for walking outdoors. I am very impressed with them, the EQ allows me to tweak them for my old ears. I compared the sound with cable and without, I can’t tell the difference. You might not like them, but I recommend you at least try them. For me they are as good as the Sennheisers. However, the Sennheisers are really well made, most parts can be replaced. I bought new ear pads and headband padding when they went moudly after being stored in a damp area. Mine are over twenty years old but in really nice nick. There are many other good makes. I had Audeze Sine, beautiful sound, **** build quality. Countless bits failed over a few years, they are now junk.
