Advice and suggestions please?

Hi folks, bit of a novice here, just bought some Mordaunt Short MS3.30 speakers, 8 ohm, and am now looking for a suitable Amp to make the best of them. Budgeting for up to £250 but needs to be cost effective. Happy for second hand up to the same budget. Any advice gratefully received. Just realised I ought to mention that I have a Hitachi HT550 deck purchased in the 80s, in case it makes a difference.

Marantz PM6005 is hard to beat at that price - Richer Sounds does it for 259. It includes a phono input which not all amps do these days so it saves shelling out for a separate phone stage. Worth an audition I would say.
