adding power amps to cyrus 8vs2

hi,

i currently have an integrated 8vs2 amp but want to upgrade,

is it possible to add a 8power one at a time or do i need to get the 8vs modified to a pre amp first?

Nope; you can have both and then bi-amp your speakers; that's if they're bi-amp'able?!?!

What is the rest of your system and what are your speakers?

My other half has her 8v2 matched with the 8SE CDP, XPower power amp and B&W CM7 speakers.

i have a cdxt and dac x with some b&w cm4 speakers which are the weakest link i suspect.

they have 4 speaker terminals so i assume i can bi-amp.

if i add the one 8 power first will this work?

Nope; wouldnt say the CM4's are a weak link at all; good speakers IMO!

4 speaker terminals means you can bi-amp yes; go for it and reap the rewards!

I'd skip the 8 power and get an X power, much more worthwhile upgrade, unless you can get the 8 power at a very good price. The 8VS2 has pre outs so no need for modification, so with a single 8 or X power you can bi-amp.
