About Onkyo TX-NR808

Dear All,

It's All About Onkyo TX-NR808, As far as I read from WH and other reviews, i wonder that most of the reviews are positives even WH itself gave onkyo full five stars. So might be if anyone lucky enough already owned this onkyo, could u tell me what the sound's like ? and how about the dynamic EQ from audyssey ? what if u turn it on, is onky's sound still dynamic? or u just turn it off when watching movies ?

My Dad has an 808 with Kef 3005.1 setup in 7.1 (would you call that 3007.1?). I've watched The Expendables and the A-Team on it, and I can say it sounds fantastic. His living room is about twice the size of mine (listening area is about 5m deep x 7m wide) , and is a detached house, so he is happy to listen at reference level. I haven't really been allowed to play with settings too much, I can say the setup by Audissey was all on auto except for the sub, which needed a little extra help. He Doesn't really use the Dynamic EQ, as that is for people with terraced houses!

It holds it self together very well at high volumes, Detail is fantastic. Has an effortless sound about it.

Paul, thanks anyway....

u'r explanation is more than enough for me...i think that finally i choose the onkyo 808 or higher (1008), its because so many positive reviews and the limitation of my budget of course . If only i could wish, i wish that I own Arcam AVR600 ....

What do you think about Arcam 400/500/600 ?
