Hi there! My girlfriend needs to replace her old 12" TV set...
and found a second hand 28" Loewe Mimo for 325 euro. However she's seen also a new (old model) Sony KDL-32U2000 for 630 euro and finds it hard to choose. Anybody out there with some advise? Is this Sony an acceptable piece of kit, or is it just under par even at this price?

At that price - around £430 if the WHFSV steam-powered abacus doesn't deceive - the Sony seems a pretty good buy, and I'm pretty confident it would be a better buy than the Mimo.

However, if she wants a dead cheap CRT, then the Mimo should be fine, provided you can see it working and all looks OK. But it will lack the ability to be used with an upscaling DVD player, for example, for enhanced picture quality - the Sony will take 720p/1080i

Thanks Andrew!
It looks like a good offer to me. I know the Sony KDL-32V2000 got high praise in the magazine, but haven't been able to determine if that models strong points would apply to this cheaper model as well. On some websites I saw some complaints about black levels.

Any(one) suggestions on that?
