I'm quite keen on the Z11 because I can get it for US$2300 online. (So cheap compared to the Australian local price that I could buy another one if something went wrong with this one and still, comparatively, be in front.)

So, for the amp it is, it's a bloody good deal and I hear that it is being discontinued. That's my only reason. And thanks.

At that price there is nothing, anywhere, that can compete. Make sure if you're buying online that you use some sort of insured credit card as a price that good suggests something may not be entirely kosher. Best to be a tiny bit careful.

Actually, the US MSRP has dropped from $5500 to some $2700 in lieu of the Z11 supposedly being discontinued!

Well I have scrapped the idea of importing from the US and will most probably buy something from Australia (or from somewhere overseas that has an international warranty and will ship to Australia; most likely the former though).

Thus I'm looking to spend no more than about AU$6000. Say 3000 GBP or so?

Thoughts, at that price range, what to buy?

If I could get a good knock-down the Z11 will slip into to that (it's going for around AU$8000 usually) and the Z7 falls in snugly at AU$4500. Other thoughts? I'm considering Pre/Pro + Power (Separates) if there's some good ones around that price too. How's Rotel + ATC (there seem to be some ones around my budget)? What about the Arcam AVR500 (and maybe even the AVR600 ex-dem or something)?

THANKS!

Hi Beta4Me, I think that the offer that Australia has got is still valid.

For $6,500.00, you can purchase a new Yamaha RX-Z11 and receive a free Yamaha Blu-ray Disc Player - I think it's model number 2900 or something like that.

If it is still available, it is an incredible deal. If you don't need the Blu-ray Player, just sell it off for like $500.00 for a quick sale and you've got yourself a top-class A/V Receiver for only AUD$6,000.00.

Dan.

Any idea whereabouts it is from? Thanks, mate.
