5m USB or Coax/optical?

My mac mini has stopped working ie not turning on at all, I might be forced to connect my pc to my Cyrus 6XPD. It will be approx 5m from each other and I wondered what would be best connection- USB or Digital- can be either optical or coax?

If the USB is asynchronus then use that. Otherwise over 5m I doubt whether it will make much difference. I have a 7.5m run of coax from my PC to the Wadia for occational use and it works fine, whether optical would sound better I really don't know.

Get a good quality USB cable - signal quality starts to drop off rapidly after 3m ...
