Matt, have you seen the LG 42PG3000 Plasma?

I know you have seen the 50PG6000 but i see that i can get the 3000 series (42") for about the same price as the Panny Px80 (37"). I can get the 42PG3000 for £614.99 delivered, so an extra 5" for less than a tenner more than the 37PX80!

Has your shop had this model in yet?

yes but i havent seen it myself, although im sure the 3000 series doesnt have the same frameless design as the 6000

Yep, the frameless design is P6000 only. I hear we've got lots of LG review units on the way....Not sure of exact size/model numbers, though, before you ask - I haven't been in the office since Tuesday!

Differences are no frameless design, less powerful speakers and 20,000 contrast instead of 30,000 and only 3 hdmi's.

Any chance you can give me a definitive answer on the hdmi version on the 37PX80 - a couple of reviews say 1.2 but Panasonic have given me two different answers when i have called them, their website seems to suggest it does have 1.3 & deep colour etc but the product description seems a little generic rather than model specific. I have downloaded the manual and cant see it mentioned there either!

The dvd recorder i am getting is 1.3 so i really want the tv the same!

Find it strange that Panasonic would fit hdmi 1.2 on a 2008 model tv!

Oddly enough I don't have all my Panasonic press packs here at home, but i'm pretty sure it's 1.3, I'll check on Monday....
