3D and PS3

Hi

I know this is an old thread but am having real trouble getting my PS3 to play 3D.

Ive recently bought a Samsung UE40D8000 which is obviously 3D capable and I have my old 40g phat PS3 connected with high speed monster HDMI cables (v1.3). I've tried all the display settings procedures for video output and it will only pick up the HD settings, not the 3D ones. I do have the PS3 connected via ana now 3yr old Yamaha YSP30D sound bar, could this be the problem, ie. with it being an older soundbar, is it that that's maybe stopping ate 3D signal from being detected??

Hope someone can help as I'm now getting rather frustrated :-/

Connect the ps3 to tv direct via HDMI, and ps3 to soundbar via optical.

Then reselect the display and sound settings on the PS3.

HDMI downselects to the lowest common denominator so if u have a bit of kit in the hdmi loop that doesnt support 3D it will be disabled.
