32 inch LCD - Sony or Philips

I am looking for a 32 inch LCD for my brother. Budget is up to £500. It will be used for SD viewing initially but will probably get upgraded to Sky HD at some point. Mainly used for sport so motion handling is a big issue. I've narrowed it down to either the Sony KDL 32v5500 which is well under budget, or the Philips 32pfl7404 which is bang on the budget. Anybody have direct experience of either of these sets? (or indeed any comparable alternatives.)
