3 stripe jack

Hey guys i recently bought a pair of headphones with an inline mic/volume control for Apple,(as per usual!),but to sit on my sofa and listen through them i had to buy a jack-jack to extend the cable. Now because they have three stripes on the jack (one for volume control I guess) I have to pull them slightly out to hear them properly,Is there a way around this and has anybody else had this problem? - Thanks in advance - Mark.

Yeah I've had this when using the wrong adapters. It's becaise of the extra connection. Adapters can be got that support the extra spacing but an extention cord or frmale to female jack (which I assume is what you're using) is going to be tricky to find I imagine.

I bought a 3 metre one on there a while ago.

Not audiophile quality, but does the trick if you need a little more length.
