2nd faulty HDMI cable

I bought a 3m long Ixos XHT 458 from Richer sounds for £80 a year last October.

This became faulty and I returned it directly to Ixos earlier this year (it was past the twelve month standard warranty) who replaced it (under their 10 year warranty scheme) without any problem. It's again given up the ghost. I have replaced it with a cheaper QED Profile HDMI lead (nearly a third of the price) and this works fine. I need a second HDMI lead for an Xbox360 so need the IXOS one replacing.

I'd like to return the lead to Richer's and try an alternative (think I have lost the packaging though). As worse case I could return to Ixos for a replacement.

Anybody had similar problems, and anybody suggest any advice.

Thanks

Pete

Whats wrong with getting a second QED profile cable ? I know there is a lot of debate about cables but QED offer a lifetime guarantee and they are pretty cheap too

I'm happy with the QED profile cable. It's the Ixos cable that's giving me the problem. Had many Ixos cables over the years and they've all been great. I am concerned that I've had two problem ones, so need to know my options with both Richer sounds and then Ixos.

Thanks Claire.

I'm happy with the new 3m long Profile QED cable (great value at £30 from Tesco, using clubcard vouchers) that I bought last month.

I still do have need for another long cable to replace the component lead coming out of the kids Xbox360, so a replacement for this cable would be utilised.

I've emailed IXOS to tell them I'm not happy with the cable (which is the now the second one I've had - I had to go directly back to Ixos for the initial replacement because the cable had been plastered into the wall (the end that broke was loose on the Bluray side)- the new cable is not plastered in) but because it's coming up to 2 years old I don't think I have a case with Richer sounds to take back and swap for something else.

I have asked Ixos for direction on this as I want a replacement, but am not happy with the same model again.

Any advice on my rights in dealing with Ixos and Richer sounds would be appreciated....

Very quick emailed response from Ixos. Just send back the faulty lead and they will replace with the newer model XHT 428. Very quick response and excellent customer support. Hopefully the lead will be a bit better this time around

I finally got round to posting the old cable back to Ixos. Two days later I received the new one, an XHT428-300, their latest model, which is 3d and ethernet compatible.

Installed in my system, and looks good and works fine. Very quick turnaround from Ixos. Well done!
