I like many others of you have the offer of a new 1 TB box for £149. I have just had a refurbished thomson box as my old one packed up but i do suffer from no satellite signal being received problems with this and the previous one. An unplug cures it. Are the new ones likely to be better on this and/or more reliable. Am happy to spend the money if it will make a difference.

I have read that some have had bad experiences with the new 1Tb box, but mine has performed flawlessly for nearly 2 weeks now.
I used to have a Thomson box and used to get freezing (both sound and picture) the odd failed recording, the old 'press red' problem of the box switching itself off, the cannot chase play one HD programme whilst recording another........ (you get the idea).
Reference the Thomson box I would say that all my problems started when the new EPG got updated as initially when I got the new EPG it ran OK for the first 3 months or so.
My new box is simply superb and I hope that I can report the same good news with my new box for a long to come. I have more than put it through it's paces by recording / watching / chase playing / combinations of the afore mentioned with lots and lots of HD content.

just received the new box after only ordering on Saturday, annoyed a little after spending ages hooking up my previous HD box (Thompson) through my Denon 1910 amp and setting up the SKY to feed through to the TV when in standby mode, the new box will not not play back any sound. Spoke to sky for 30 minutes but didn't get anywhere but then again didn't expect to. I'm sure theres a problem with the software as this happened when I got the previous HD box and took a lot of fiddleling to get it too work. Other than that the box looks great and is relatively quiet

My new 1Tb box is now just short of 2 months old and I am very happy to report no problems of any sort.
Even if I had paid the full £249 then I would still be happy with it's performance !
